In the Beginning
The first official Optimist Club was formed in Buffalo, NY.  A nationwide Optimist movement began when the Optimist Club of Indianapolis, was formed in May 1916. Envisioning a nationwide organization, founders of the Indianapolis club moved ahead in the summer of 1916 to start Optimist Clubs in many other major cities.

The Optimist Club of Westchester

The Westchester Optimist Club received its charter from Optimist International in 1963. This year marks our 46th year of service to the Westchester community. This year also marks a milestone in our club’s history with the inauguration of our new clubhouse on the grounds of Tropical Park.
